Conference Objectives

This conference aims to

  • Provide an opportunity for scientific experts to advance knowledge about FASD and promote collaboration
  • Bring together people from research, clinical practice, service provision and the community to share their stories, build networks and learn new skills
  • Highlight the importance of shared leadership and responsibility at all levels of government and society
  • Provide opportunities for dialogue to develop creative solutions to unresolved challenges in FASD research, policies and programs
  • Have a useful and positive impact for people living with FASD and those caring for or providing services for them, particularly in Australia and New Zealand

Conference Principles

  • Be inclusive of families living with FASD and interested communities, and optimise ways for meaningful participation
  • Be transparent in the way the conference is planned and implemented
  • Develop a robust, comprehensive program to present the most current science, best professional practice information, and community experience
  • Where possible ensure conference content is relevant to sectors beyond health
  • Consider the rights of those living with FASD at all times

The Organising Committee for the FASD Conference 2018 invites you to submit an abstract for a presentation at the Conference to be held at the Pan Pacific Perth from 21 – 22 November 2018.
